Students love animals. Use their natural excitement and enthusiasm to engage them in deep thinking about adaptations, ecosystems, human-environment interaction, requirements for life, and more.
These digital projects were created by students using Wixie. Creative use of technology can engage students, and help you integrate your iPads, PCs, or Chromebooks into the curriculum.
Start your primary students with a cluster diagram to organize research ideas and describe traits of the animal they are studying.
Students research an animal and create a riddle to showcase their knowledge and engage other students in the natural world.
Students write a diary or journal from an animal's perspective to show experiences and behaviors of the species.
Students interview animals to practice empathy and use a first-person approach to share their knowledge of animal characteristics, adaptations, and more.
Ask students to create public service announcements to educate people about an issue they are passionate about.
Use this choice board to put students in charge of how they will publish their animal research.

While researching our animals for our nonfiction animal books, we’ve learned so many special #adaptations of our animals that help them to survive. Because we know so much, we also get to create diagrams that we will put in our books! #wixie #JungleClass @LittleRiverLCPS pic.twitter.com/FrjROsEWia
