Digital Storytelling in the Primary Grades
Use these examples of digital storytelling to build literacy and connect students more deeply to your classroom curriculum.
Emerging writers can build powerful skills as they craft projects that apply narrative, informational and opinion writing skills.
Literature Adaptation
Students create their own adaptations of literature they are reading.
Retell Events
Students use sight word sentence starters to write to retell events.
Author Original Narratives
Make your emerging writers published authors. Write and illustrate a story and then export as PDF or eBook.
Learning to write and sequence directions
Have students write how-to books for favorite activities or tasks they can do independently.
Favorite Relative
Have students write a simple story about a family member or friend. Have them record their voice and share on Mother's Day, Father's Day, or even Valentine's Day.
